Volunteers from Discover, Chicago Cares transform London

More than 500 volunteers from Discover’s Business Technology department partnered with Chicago Cares to work at London Middle School on Tuesday, June 7.

The team of volunteers divided efforts between the two schools to work on a variety of building and beautification projects. Volunteers built benches that convert into picnic tables, painted murals and accents of purple throughout the building, built flower beds, and did landscaping work throughout the school grounds.

The volunteers’ work can be seen throughout the school and grounds and each volunteer showed great commitment to reinvigorating London.

More than 6,000 volunteer hours were tallied between the day of service and in preparation for the projects.
